The Venus of Hohle Fels – Radiocarbon dating puts this lady at somewhere between 31,000 and 40,000 years old, making her one of the oldest discovered examples of figurative art in the world!

Link not missing anymore? – Scientists have discovered what some are claiming is the missing link. “Ida,” or Darwinius masillae is a 47 million year old, lemur-like creature with some distinctly human-like traits like forward-facing eyes, opposable thumbs, and nails rather than claws. I’m not sure about all the hype about Darwin being “validated” — I’m pretty sure most people these days take the theory of evolution as a given — but it’s definitely fascinating!
