So many aspects to every facet of life, the world. Like a fractal that starts with one thought and spreads outward connecting everything, everyone, everywhere, even though outside our perception. Find the connections and you have the keys to everything.

She swayed down the street, gazelle-like and teetering on her stilettos. Her makeup was immaculate.

I may very well be out of my mind, but I’ve signed up for this year’s NaNoWriMo. Yeah. After not writing much of anything for months. I’m so out of practice *headdesk* But I figure if anything might be able to kickstart the writing habit again, it’d be this. 50,000 words in 30 days. 2000 words a day for 25 days would give me five days leeway or downtime so I don’t go crazy :p

Mood: Annoyed/Frustrated
Inspired by: The Bird and the Bee - My Love (Lyrics)

I’ve cheated a little (and on the first go-round :p), and gone with a song with lyrics that was already in my music library. I woke up with it in my head a couple days ago, and it spawned the idea for this (“My clown, let me love you/What’s that?/Back to the back of the rebound/Clown hang around…” has sounded like a story to me since I first heard this song). It’s unfortunate that I wasn’t able to finish it in the first sitting, since it is a pretty short story. I got this far and one too many distractions derailed that train with extreme prejudice >.< There is an ending (a couple actually), and it was originally never supposed to be as tragic/bittersweet-sounding as it does :/ But now my brain just keeps tripping up at what to do next, how to bridge the gap between points A and B. This has been an issue in the past on multiple projects. But it almost, almost sounds like a finished piece as-is, so rather than stress and beat myself up for not finishing it, I’ll go ahead and post it. I can always come back and finish it later if the mood strikes me. I did at least write something. *sighs*

Watching from the curtains behind the ring, she smiles. She’s seen his act a thousand times, and knows it as well as he does. She watches the faces in the audience: children sqealing with delight, surprised guffaws from the adults as he stumbles over to a large family and produces flowers from the air for all the girls.

And yet, as close as they are to him, they don’t see it. If his smile is crooked, it’s a trick of the makeup, the eyepatch a part of the show. Clowns exist to make people happy, and that’s exactly what he does night after night…

I’ve been in a creative slump for… hell, I’m not even sure how long at this point. Long enough that it’s more than a little frustrating. I attempted to do 21 stories in 21 days in 2007 (ugh..I didn’t realize just how long it’d been until I started to write “last year” then rechecked the dates >.<), and failed miserably in the attention span department. So this is me asking you for help, Internet…

I <3 magnetic poetry. It was one of the first things I got for my previous apartment (the very first I ever had on my own) to make it feel like home. It was only the basic set, so a lot of times I ended up snipping words into bits to make words I didn’t have. I actually kept a dictionary and thesaurus on top of the fridge, and a notebook so I could record poems as they were created. Just felt like sharing :) …

Found these via someone else’s Lj or blog (can’t remember who :p), and they sound/look insanely tasty. I’d love to try them out at some point.

Inspired by Kelly’s prompt, “horses in a field.”

“Have you ever seen anything like it before?” Chardra swung the beam of light at the grass, and it fell away in a sheet that smoked momentarily. An old woman sat next to her atop the hill. Graying blonde eyebrows rose in surprise, but her features remained otherwise impassive as she stared across the strange landscape. Snow drifted across sandy desert plains, and a rainbow-hued herd of horses appeared on the horizon.

She shook her head. “You say you took this from a man made of moonsilver?”

“Yes, and after he was dead, his body melted away into a sort of…sludge. And then it disappeared altogether. It was the strangest thing I think I’ve ever seen, Tressa.”

“It’s incredible,” she breathed into the sky. The precipice dropped away into the distance below her toes.
