Relevant to My Interests

Cyberfunded Creativity

“What is cyberfunded creativity?” you ask? I picked up the term from Elizabeth Barrette. It’s essentially the same thing as crowdfunding, but is used specifically in reference to artists, writers, crafters, musicians, and creative folks of all ilks whose work is funded by the online community. Most commonly, I’ve seen it applied to writers who have been disenchanted with traditional publishing methods, and whose audience wants their stories, whether or not there’s a big publishing house name on them. But it can refer to anyone who has produced or is producint creative efforts funded by you, the web audience. This is a selection of cyberfunded’s that have caught my interest. If you know of other cyberfunded projects you think I might be interested in, please send me a link!

Reading List

I’m a book fiend, and I have a bad habit of buying books that sound interesting while I’m still in the middle of something else. Needless to say, this means my book pile usually grows somewhat faster than I can whittle it down. This is the list of my current, active “to-read” list, in no fixed order (yes, there are books that have been in the pile long enough that they’ve just gotten completely set aside :p). I may write reviews when I finish them, as the whim hits me. Wherever possible the links provided point to the specific version of the book that I have.

Lines From Songs

For a long time, music has been an inspiration for me, both creative and spiritual. There are a lot of music I love, and as many individual lyrics, in or out of context, that speak to something inside me. Or are just insanely entertaining. This list is by no means exhaustive, and will probably be added to from time to time. Hover over each entry to see the artist and song.

  • “Days go by/and still I think of you”
  • “Let your loss be your lesson”
